Luckily, there are sooooo many wonderful memories. I remember digging up sassafras roots and making sassafras tea. Had to be careful though. When painting, not to get your tea and your rinse water mixed up.
I remember sitting on her lap while she played euchre. That was a very long time ago ☺️.
I guess the most pivotal is one that I can't remember myself. Mom's retelling of when I was born. Gramma's response was the main reason why mom could change her mind about putting me up for adoption. "That child will not starve."....
Gramma always made it a point to welcome people to her table whether for food, coffee, dice, euchre, a listening ear or all of the above.
I am so very grateful that God let me know her and gave us so much time together. But, to be honest, I am a bit selfish, 93 years is still not enough for a heart as warm and beautiful as hers.
Aunt Myrt, Mom, Granny, whatever you called her, she will be greatly missed by so many. She was a kind, compationent, loving, person. We loved the get together's at her home in Michigan, as well as in Texas. Randall, Dennis, Lee, Autumn loved playing music for her. Hank Thompson was one of her favorite singers. She loved playin euchre, fishing, Can't forget her cat, Cutie. We will always remember how much she and Aunt Laura, reached out to us and gave us a wedding reception.
We are so glad for all the moments we were able to spend with her. We will miss her greatly. She was Aunt Myrt, Mom and Granny to us.
Our deepest condolences and sympathy to all.

I will miss Aunt Mert. Every time I saw her when I was a kid, there were fishing stories. She fell in the water in nearly every tale.
Music vibrated through her pores, and love.
