Nancy Ann Chapman's Obituary
Nancy Ann Chapman passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at the age of 82. She was born on February 18, 1931, to Peter and Stena (Kruizenga) DeWitt. The former Nancy Ann DeWitt was married to Byron Chapman on May 10, 1952, and they recently celebrated 60 years of marriage together. Nancy graduated from Grand Haven High School and completed her nursing degree at Butterworth School of Nursing. She was employed as a registered nurse at North Ottawa Community Hospital for many years. Nancy enjoyed her cottage up north, boating, fishing, and relaxing with family and friends. She also loved knitting, quilting, and gardening.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Byron; children, Cindy (Dan) Zatarga of Bear Lake, Glenda (Tom) Adams of Chippewa Lake, Brad (Carmen) Chapman of Ludington, and Sherry (Dennis) Sill of Edwardsburg; grandchildren, Carrie (Justin) Grill, Steve (Kalyn) Zatarga, Jarrah (Josh) Latz, Rob and Jake Adams, Katie, Ashley and Kevin Sill, and Veronique Chapman; great-grandchildren, Noah, Daniel and Hannah Grill, Brady and Leighton Latz; also surviving is her sister-in-law, Marian Kurburski; brother-in-law, Dudley Olson; and many nieces and nephews. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, Jean Chapin and Hazel Holtrop; and 2 brothers, Chuck and Paul DeWitt.
A Memorial Service for Nancy will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 23, 2013, at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven with Rev. Bob Kleinheksel officiating. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions to Hospice of North Ottawa Community are appreciated.
