Nancy Lou Frederick's Obituary
Mrs. Nancy Lou Frederick, age 71, passed away peacefully at her home in Muskegon, Michigan on Friday, February 13, 2026 following a 5-month battle with cancer. She was born in Muskegon on August 30, 1954 to Ophard and Gertrude (Bogue) Hicks. Nancy married the love of her life, Ronald J. Frederick, in Muskegon on March 31, 1973, and they enjoyed 52 years of marriage. She was employed by Muskegon Public Schools as a cook for 30 years prior to her retirement in 2013. Nancy was an old soul that never wanted much for herself, instead, she loved people and wanted to help others and give as much as she could. She enjoyed bowling and traveling, especially to visit her son and his family. She is survived by her loving husband, Ron; son, Anthony “Tony” (Stacey Vaughn) Frederick; grandchildren, Lily and Leo; brother, Arnold (Sherry) Hicks; and sister, Sally Metgzer. Nancy was preceded in death by her daughter, Bree Frederick; parents, Ophard and Gertrude Hicks; and brother, Ben Bartlett. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and a CELEBRATION OF HER LIFE will be announced later this year.
