Nancy Sue Pieczynski's Obituary
Nancy Sue Pieczynski, age 83, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2025. She was born November 15, 1942, in Texarkana, Arkansas, to Ernest and Essie (Foster) Perkins. Nancy graduated from Arkansas High School in Texarkana in 1960 and later earned a Master’s in Education in 1964 from Southern State College in Magnolia, Arkansas. She taught high school and middle school Physical Education and Science in both Texarkana and Austin, and also spent time substitute teaching. After returning to Michigan in 1978, Nancy worked for the State of Michigan as a case manager with the Department of Human Services, a position she held for 25 years before retiring in 2005. She married Frank J. Pieczynski on October 3, 1992, in Muskegon, MI, and he survives her. Earlier in her life, in 1973, she became the 21st female UPS driver in the country while working in Barstow, CA. Nancy was an enthusiastic reader and an avid quilter who also enjoyed sports, traveling in their fifth wheel, and spending winters in Texas, also known as “Winter Texans.” Above all, she cherished time spent with her friends and family. SURVIVORS include her husband Frank of 33 years; three children, Kelly (Lori) Daniel of Bradenton, FL, Ron (Cindy) Pieczynski of Muskegon, and Lauri (Joe) McDonald of Fruitport; six grandchildren, Joe (Amber) McDonald, Michael (Jaclyn) McDonald, Adam (Nikki Smith) Pieczynski, Emily (Chris) Zanders, Christina Henderson and Teresa Henderson; six great-grandchildren, Tucker, Kendall, Chase, and Mason McDonald, Eli and Lyra Helms; sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy (Lt. Col. Robert) Whittington; sister, Jane Barlow; sisters-in-law, Lynda, Connie, and Peggy Perkins; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ron (Carol) Pieczynski; many nieces and nephews. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ray, Clifton, and Jimmy Perkins; and brother-in-law, Larry Barlow. Visitation with Nancy’s family will be held from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at the Harmony Lake Apartment Homes Clubhouse, 1700 Harmony Lake Drive, Muskegon, MI 49444 (Apartment complex located across the street from the funeral home).
