I am sadly very late to this party (02/09/15) yet I could not pass up the opportunity to write a note, hoping that Rob, Rick, and Charlotte will see it.

I have nothing but the fondest childhood memories of Mrs. Spangler. Rob & I were always buzzing around the house, often in trouble and always up to something, but Mrs. Spangler was so loving, funny and tolerant of our boyish shenanigans. I can't remember her ever raising her voice, except in mild exasperation when surely more was called for.

Rick, Charlotte, and Rob:
I was so sorry to hear about Nancy. One of my fondest memories was Karen and I coming to visit you all. Dick and Nancy made us feel so welcome. I still have the pictures we took outside, and I have a vivid memory of being taken to a place where there were many trampolines. I thought it was great. We live in Huntington, WV now, and just read about her passing. You are all in our prayers. Nancy was a wonderful person.

Charlotte, Rick, and Rob and all of your families,
Nancy was a treasured friend, and, for many years, she would always step in to teach my classes when ever I was absent. She stepped in on the first day of school in "76 when my daughter was being born. Over the years we had so many good times together talking about you "kids" and your families. I realized that your Mom had moved from the home she dearly loved in Mt. Lebanon and I assumed it was to be near one of you. I can just imagine her planning for a holiday meals when ALL of you would find your way back to Pittsburgh. She was the epitome of graciousness and friendliness. She and i often found ourselves compatriots when it came to politics, which said to me she had a great survival instinct to be so loved in her neighborhood and church. The last time we were together I told her that whenever I heard Laura Bush speaking I thought it was your Mom, not for what was said but in the gentleness of the voice. My deepest sympathies go to you all, but with so many good memories of your Mom and Dad their wonderful qualities will be shared with all those kids and grand kids, and yes, even the great children.
Have good cheer because all those good memories will be there for many many years --
