Nancy J. Carlson's Obituary
Nancy Jean Carlson, age 65, passed away early Saturday morning at a local care facility. She was born April 6, 1940 to James Gordon and Marie(DeKoning) Nielsen in Muskegon, where she has been a life long resident. On April 6, 1957, she married Darwin O. Carlson and he preceded her in death on April 15,1990. Prior to her retirement, Nancy had been employed by Orchard View Work Development Agency, and previous to that at First General Credit Union. She was a member of Samuel Lutheran Church and also the Vikings Linne’ Lodge #57 where she sang in the choir.
Nancy is SURVIVED by her 5 children: Karan Carlson of Muskegon, Kurt (Theresa) Carlson of Florida, Kay Carlson of N. Muskegon, Kimberly (Martin) Birch of Norton Shores, and Kregg (Brenda) Carlson of Fruitport; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; her Mother, Marie Nielsen of Muskegon; her brother, James (Ruth) Nielsen, Jr. of Muskegon; her sister, Lorraine (Lawrence) Eikenberry of Twin Lake; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her father. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11AM Tuesday April 4, at Samuel Lutheran Church. (540 Houston Ave.) with Rev. Chris Anderson officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Visiting Nurse Services - Hospice. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
