Ned N. Burdick's Obituary
Ned Noel Burdick, age 83, passed away in Muskegon, Michigan on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. He was born on January 8, 1942, to Sylvester and Lavina (Burnett) Burdick in Muskegon. Ned attended Muskegon High School. He joined the United States Army to serve his country and served three years in Illesheim, Germany before returning home to Muskegon. Ned was employed at Clarke Floor Machine, Meridian, then later at Herman Miller, where he spent 20 years working until his retirement. Growing up and living in Muskegon was very special to Ned. He enjoyed all the changing seasons and being near beautiful Lake Michigan. He loved visiting Pere Marquette, going to the beach, walking along the Muskegon Channel or just taking a drive around. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, golfing, biking and traveling. He especially loved football and was a big fan of Muskegon High School Big Reds and the University of Michigan Wolverines football programs. Most of all, Ned enjoyed spending time with his buddies at McDonalds and Russ’ where he made so many, many special friendships.
In 1986, he married Caroline Bancuk who preceded him in death on November 9, 2019. He is survived by his two daughters Christine (Michael) Wissman and Michelle Burdick; three grandchildren, Cole and Clay Wissman and Tiffany (Chad) Couturier; two great-grandchildren, Kane and Cameron Couturier; nephews, nieces and many friends. He is preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Burdick and sisters, Nellie Buhay, Laura Jean Rainbolt and Lorna June Cowell. He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE to honor and celebrate Ned’s life will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 11, 2025, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444.
