Ned W. Durgan's Obituary
Ned W. Durgan, age 93, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2020. He was born August 26, 1927 in Muskegon to Clyde and Genevieve (Gjestrom) Durgan and lived in the area his entire life. Ned was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during WWII. On January 26, 1984, he married Lucille J. “Lucy” Calkins in Muskegon and she survives him. He worked as a conductor and brakeman for C & O Railroad for 33 years and retired in 1985. Survivors include his wife, Lucy Durgan; 9 children, Cindy Lapekes, Deb (Michael) Czarnopis, Ned W. (Karen) Durgan II, Clyde Durgan, Felicia Durgan, Gretchen (Bob) Langlois, David W. Moseler, Douglas C. Moseler, Deborah J. Loyselle; 3 generations of grandchildren; and 1 sister, Nancy (Bob) Simonelli. He was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Lisa Ann Durgan and 1 son, Daniel C. Moseler. The family wishes to extend gratitude to Harbor Hospice, especially Nurse Christina, for the loving care that Ned received from them.
