Neil J Frick's Obituary
Neil J. Frick was born July 5, 1927 in Muskegon, Michigan. He passed away July 24, 2013 in Ferrysburg, Michigan. Neil graduated from Muskegon Heights High School as class President in 1947. During High School he was a starter on the varsity football team for two years, teams that never lost a game. After a successful football career at Central Michigan University and graduation, Neil worked as a Cost Accountant for Continental Motors until being drafted into the Army during the Korean War. After serving in the Army he took an accounting position with Chrysler Corporation in Detroit. He left Chrysler in the 1950’s and began a successful career as an executive with National Casualty Insurance Co also in Detroit. Upon retirement Neil relocated to Scottville, Michigan in 1986. He began a successful second career when he opened Frick’s Old Country Store. The store became a working museum of civil war and American country antiques. Through the store he built a network of the best friends a person could have. His parents Neil and Virginia, and his sister-in-law Jean precede Neil in death. He is survived by his brother Jack and nephews and niece; Jack (Mary) Frick, Barbara (Al) Lowe, Tom (Debbie) Frick, David and Dan Frick; he was also a close uncle to numerous great nieces and nephews SERVICES will be held at 11:00 am on Monday July 29, 2013 at The Lee Chapel 6291 S. Harvey 231-798-1100 with Rev. John Brown officiating. VISITATION will be held 2 hours prior to the service. Memorial contributions can be made to the Scottville Main Street Program.
