Mrs. Nellie J Olson's Obituary
Nellie Jane Olson, age 88, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2014. She was born in Montgomery, West Virginia on April 8, 1925 to Donald and Louise Smith. She married Carl Olson on June 11, 1954 in Muskegon. Together they were blessed with 4 children. Nellie was a member of Central Assembly of God in Muskegon. She was a humorous, loving, patient woman of God. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and shopping, but first and foremost was always her family. She will be deeply missed. SURVIVORS include 4 daughters, Evonne (Mark) Shannon of Houston, TX, Carla (Wes) Griffes of N. Muskegon, Wanda (Tim) O’Toole of Muskegon, and Cindy (Jim) Bos of Spring Lake; 1 step-daughter, Sharon (Gerald) Cutter; 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 3 brothers, Daniel, Dana, and Richard (Chris) Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl; parents; 2 sisters, Lillian Stout and Grace Rames; and 3 brothers, Donald, David, and Delmo Smith. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 11 AM on Friday, February 14, 2014 at The Lee Chapel 6291 S. Harvey 231-798-1100 with Dr. Gordon D. Aikin officiating. VISITATION will be held on Thursday from 5-7 PM. Memorial Contributions can be made to Harbor Hospice or Chariots of Fire.
