Nelson Marvin Hislop's Obituary
Mr. Nelson “Marv” Hislop, age 93, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2014. Marv was born April 14, 1921 to Carl L. and Edna M. (Douglas) Hislop in Benton Harbor. He served his country in the US Army Air Corps during WWII and then was employed as manager of Brunswick Bowling Lanes for 20 years. On July 17, 1998, Marv married the former Dorothy Felgenhauer in Muskegon and she survives him. Marv was a member of Covenant Community Church. He was a master bridge player, an avid golfer and loved Michigan sports teams; the Tigers, Lions and U of M. Marv is SURVIVED by his wife, Dorothy; sons, Larry (Charlie) Hislop and David Hislop of California; 3 stepchildren, Alan Felgenhauer of Chicago, Lynn (Ted) Forward of Muskegon and Thomas Felgenhauer of South Carolina; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; one brother; daughter, Linda Hislop; and stepson, Cutis Felgenhauer. In accordance with his wishes no services are planned. Memorial contributions may be to Covenant Community Church.
