Nevada Louise Torrent's Obituary
Nevada Louise Torrent, of Muskegon, passed away at her Bluffton home, on Wednesday, January 11, 2006, at the age of 96. She was born in Kankakee, IL on October 29, 1909 to Arthur J. and Geneva (Beaupre’) Funk and moved to Muskegon with her beloved mother and grandmother in 1919. Mrs. Torrent attended Bluffton and Bunker schools and graduated from Muskegon High School in 1928. She had worked for Probate Court, the Muskegon Letter Service, S.D. Warren and retired from the Shaw Walker Company in 1973. On October 26, 1939, she married Robert Torrent in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on January 1, 1999. Mrs. Torrent had lived in the Bluffton neighborhood for 86 years and loved sharing memories with special friends, Carolina and Muriel, while sitting in her favorite spot, looking out over Muskegon Lake. She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Torrent. A special thanks to Dr. Marjorie Mooney, Hackley VNS/Hospice and caring staff, her friends and caregivers, Carolina Isley, Cathy Miller, Jan Watson and Muriel Medema.
