Newton W. "Newt" Taylor's Obituary
Mr. Newton W. “Newt” Taylor, age 87, passed away Thursday morning, October 20, 2011 in Muskegon. He was born April 14, 1924 to Noble and Evelyn (Newton) Taylor in Elkhart, IN, and moved to Muskegon from Grant in 1951. Newt was a WWII U.S. Air Force veteran, and was a member of the Whitehall American Legion. He was a longtime member of Lakeside Baptist Church. On June 5, 1945 Newt married Norma E. Clark, and she preceded him in death on July 5, 2005. SURVIVORS include 3 children, Donald (Connie) Taylor of Willoughby, OH, Linda (James ) Hubsel of Muskegon, April (Roger) Ward of Freeland, MI; 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Beverly Kok of Comstock Park, Marilyn (Herman) Bode of Florida, Edith (Ernest) Walton of Grant. He was also preceded in death by 1 daughter, Carol Anne Taylor in 1958; 1 son, Mark Eugene Taylor in 1989; and a brother, Noble Taylor. SERVICES will be 1:00 PM Monday at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. with Rev. Leslie K. Lew officiating. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION at the funeral home will be from 2-4 PM Sunday.
