Nicholas Ozios' Obituary
Mr. Nicholas Ozios, age 46, of Shelby passed away Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Trinity Hospital. He was born March 21, 1980, in Muskegon to Dan and Jenny (Rorye) Ozios and was a 1998 graduate of Reeths-Puffer High School.
Nicholas graduated from Western Michigan University and worked at Meijer in Kalamazoo until his illness, and he moved back to West Michigan. He enjoyed reading, hunting and golfing and was an avid Western hockey fan and Florida State football fan. Nicholas will be missed by all who knew him and especially for his sarcastic sense of humor.
He is survived by his parents, Dan and Jenny; sister, Laura (John) Townsend; nephew, Parker; aunts and uncles: Alyce Boardman, Gerrit Rorye, Hank and Namsuk Rorije, Greta and Jon McCormick, Len Gokey, Pam and Joe Alexander, and David and Julie Ozios; many cousins, and good friend, Terry O’Neal. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Herman and Margaret Rorye, and Marian and Emery Ozios; aunts and uncles: Marcia Gokey, Fran and Jerry Weaver, and Bert Rorye; special friend: Joni Rood.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey Street, Norton Shores, MI 49444. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will take place in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
