Nicholas J. VanDonkelaar's Obituary
Nickolas J. VanDonkelaar, age 88, passed away on April 25, 2018. He was born on October 1, 1929 to Gerrit and Nellie (DePender) VanDonkelaar in Muskegon. He had attended Trinity Baptist Church. Nick served his country in the US Army during the Korean War earning a bronze star. Prior to 1986, he had worked 33 years at Dresser Industries as an accountant. On June 13, 1953 he married Marilyn Swanson and she preceded him in death on November 3, 2014. SURVIVORS include 3 children, Brenda (Dennis) Hulme, Julie (Matthew) Church and Jennifer (Mark) Kline; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and sister, Nellie Jackman. He was also preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Gertrude Wheater and Elizabeth Schuitema; brothers, William, Gerrit, Peter and Joe VanDonkelaar. GRAVESIDE SERVICES will be held at Norton Cemetery at a later date. MEMORIALS can be directed to Trinity Baptist Church.
