Nicole J. Christian's Obituary
Nicole J. Christian, born July 11, 1940, passed away on April 3, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and quiet grace that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Nicole was a woman of deep compassion and unwavering integrity. She carried herself with warmth and kindness, always ready to lend a listening ear, offer thoughtful advice, or share her radiant smile. Her presence had a way of making others feel seen, valued, and understood.
She had a lifelong love of reading and could often be found immersed in a good book, finding both joy and comfort within its pages. Nicole also had a tender heart for animals, caring for them with the same gentleness and devotion she showed to people. During her time living in Muskegon, she especially cherished walking along the shores of Lake Michigan. The sound of the waves and the beauty of the beach brought her peace and reflection, and those walks remained some of her most treasured memories.
She was devoted to her family and friends, cherishing time spent together and creating memories that will be treasured forever. Nicole was the proud mother of four children, the loving grandmother of six grandchildren, and the adoring great-grandmother of one great-grandchild. While not related by blood, she is also lovingly remembered by The Alcorn Family and The Uganski Family - who were family in every sense, offering love, joy, and unwavering support and she embraced them as her own. Her related and chosen family were the center of her world, and she poured her heart into each generation, leaving a legacy of love that will continue to grow.
Nicole approached life with resilience and determination. She faced challenges with courage, met successes with humility, and treated everyone with dignity and respect. Her strength was matched by her gentleness—a rare and beautiful balance that defined her character.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to AdventHealth Hospice for their unwavering support and to the dedicated caregivers who cared for Nicole with such great love and compassion. Their kindness and comfort brought peace not only to Nicole but to her entire family during a difficult time.
A Celebration of Nicole’s Life will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, May 2, 2026, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231) 798-1100. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service.
