Nikkia Nichelle Bowie's Obituary
Nikkia Nichelle Bowie, age 44, passed away very suddenly on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 – just 5 days after her beloved father, Jerry Caviness. Nikkia was born December 31, 1975 in Washington, DC to Jerry and Michelle (Thomas) Caviness. She was a graduate of Muskegon Catholic Central High School Class of 1993 where she was active in running track, and was a member of the Marching Band Flag Corps. Nikkia was a licensed cosmetologist and was self employed for many years. She also worked in tax preparation. Nikkia was a former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and enjoyed dancing. Her family and her boys were the center of her life. Survivors include her 3 sons, Tristan Bowie, Juwan Bowie, Jaiden Bowie; her former husband and father of her sons, Jeremy Bowie; her mother, Michelle Caviness; 1 sister, Daniesha Jefferson; husband, Terrance Thompson. Nikkia was preceded in death by her father, Jerry Caviness on December 11, 2020; her brother, Daniel Jefferson III; and her grandmother, Glendora Thomas. Public Visitation limited to 25 people at a time with social distancing will be held 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM Friday, December 18, 2020 at The Lee Chapel of Systema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444. A Graveside Service will be held 12:30 PM Friday, December 18, 2020 at Norton Cemetery (743 Airport Rd, Norton Shores) with Elder Willie Williams, Jr. officiating.
