Nina Mae Strandberg's Obituary
Mrs. Nina Mae Strandberg, age 78, died early Thursday morning, June 24, 2004 at home. She was born February 24, 1926 in Muskegon to John and Uva (Potter) Rice. Mrs. Strandberg was a 1943 graduate of Muskegon High School, and a life member of the VFW Polar Bear Post #3734 Auxiliary. She was a soldier of the Salvation Army Citadel, where she had been President of the Home League for 18 ½ years, and also taught Sunday School for 60 years. Mrs. Strandberg worked for Harbor Industries in Grand Haven from 1977 until her retirement in 1991. She had also worked 10 years for E.H. Sheldon and Co. On April 18, 1944, she married her husband of 60 years, Leo Strandberg, in Muskegon Heights, and he survives her along with 5 children, Carol (Gerald) Strayer, Steve (Debbie) Strandberg both of Muskegon, Dixie (Jim) Honeycutt of Knoxville, TN, David Strandberg of Muskegon, Roger (Lynne) Strandberg of Ravenna; 2 grandchildren, Melissa (William) Harrington and Mylinda Robillard; brother, Glen (Joyce) Rice of Muskegon; sister, Alma Randles of Muskegon; sister-in-law, Irma (Donley) Putney of Muskegon; brother-in-law, Donald Strandberg of Baldwin; and many nieces and nephews. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Monday at the Salvation Army Citadel (1221 Shonat) with Majors Max and Betty Grindle officiating. Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Sunday at
