Nina Marie Heckle's Obituary
Mrs. Nina Marie Heckle, age 91, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2009 following a brief illness. Nina was born in Chicago, IL on February 18, 1918 to Arthur and Clara (Magnuson) Larson. Mrs. Heckle received her Bachelors Degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin and retired from teaching in 1972 following a long and rewarding career. Nina influenced many students during her career including current Governor of Indiana, Mitch Daniels. She enjoyed reading, playing the violin, needle pointing and cooking for family and friends alike. Mrs. Heckle was a member of Central United Methodist Church, the church circle and the book club. She married Mr. Joseph D. “Doug” Heckle on March 27, 1942 and he preceded her in death in July of 2007. She is survived by: son, Paul and his wife, Carolyn of Norton Shores; grandson, Lt. Col Kevin (Amy) Heckle of RAF Lakenheath Airbase, England; granddaughter, Amy (Joe) Wenk of Kingsport, IN and great-grandchildren, Jon, Chris, Jared, Wyatt and Jenna. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at:

11:00 A.M., Tuesday, November 24, 2009, Rev. Gerald Hagans officiating. The family will begin receiving guests, one hour prior to the service. Memorial Contributions: Central United Methodist Church. She will be laid to rest in the Mears Cemetery.
