Nora E. Drake's Obituary
Mrs. Nora Drake, age 84, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017 in Fruitport. She was born in Gladstone, Michigan on February 18, 1933 to Henry Jr. and Edna (Swift) Hemken. Nora married Gerald Drake in Nunica, Michigan on May 9, 1959. She was a longtime member of St. Luke Lutheran Church of Nunica and served as its organist for over 30 years. She was an avid seamstress and enjoyed crocheting, knitting and puzzles, but foremost was always her family. SURVIVORS include her children, Eric (Kathy) Drake, Judy Irish, Gerald (Elizabeth) Drake Jr., Jill (Doug) Recker and Lorna (Matthew) Coulier; 10 grandchildren, Mary, Staci (Noah), Emily, Adam, Kyra, Maggie, Kyle, Kurt, Edward and Ashley; one great granddaughter, Bailey; sister, Janette (Bill) Wiard; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Nora was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; daughter, Marlene; and four grandchildren, Phillip, Grant, Austin and Kay. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231)798-1100. VISITATION will be held from 6-8 PM Friday at The Lee Chapel.
