Norah M. Hansen's Obituary
Norah M. Hansen, age 98, met her Lord and Savior on Monday, January 4, 2021. She was born to James and Olive (Percy) Bowron in New Castle-on-Tyne, England. She was a faithful servant of Our Lord and Savior and was a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. On November 29, 1947, she married the love of her life, Thomas Hansen at St. Paul Episcopal Church. Together they cherished 61 years full of love and laughter. He preceded her in death on August 21, 2009. She worked for 15 years as a teacher’s aide at Reeths-Puffer School District, before retiring in 1984. Norah and Thomas were both members of the Sons of Norway. She enjoyed latch hooking, word searches and getting her nails done. Above all things she truly loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a friendly woman balanced with the perfect amount of spunk. She will always be remembered for her beautifully warming smile. She is survived by her 4 children, Ann (Clifton) Martin Jr., John (Kay) Hansen, Joyce (David) Vitek and Janet (Scott) Buzzell; 11 grandchildren, Brad, Dan (Stacie), Steven, Ken, Travis (Shana) Martin, Stephanie (Troy) Gilroy, Ashley (Julio) Baez, Thomas (Lauren) Vitek, Michael, Mark, and Courtney Buzzell; and 7 great-grandchildren, Payden, Amya, Makenna, Jameson, Maksim, Elianna, and Jaxon. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas Hansen; and son, David Hansen. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. A limited visitation of 25 people at a time will be held one-hour prior. Burial will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
