Norma L. Baker's Obituary
Norma L. Baker, aged 87, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2021.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and three sisters. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Donald; children Donald (Kris) Baker, Jeff (Marcia) Baker, Maurine Baker; two grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; a sister, Carole (Jim) Floyd, sisters-in-law Judy Feyen and Lois Baker, a brother-in-law, Tom Williams; many nieces and nephews.
Norma was born in 1934 in Holland, Michigan, to the late Homer A. and Johanna Feyen. As a traveling salesman, Homer relocated the family several times, eventually settling in Des Moines, IA. After graduating from high school, Norma began her work career at Northwestern Bell. She met Sergeant Donald “Don” Baker in 1952, while he was on leave from the U.S.M.C., and they were married on August 20, 1954.
In 1971, their family of five relocated to Michigan, where Don and Norma spent the last 15 years in West Olive. As a devoted Christian, Norma was a faithful member of Ottawa Reformed Church for many years.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, July 22, at 11:00 a.m., at Ottawa Reformed Church, followed by a private burial.
