Norma J. Brazda's Obituary
Mrs. Norma J. Brazda, age 93, of Grand Haven passed away Sunday, December 13, 2015 at Robbinswood Assisted Living Community. She was born June 1, 1922 in Detroit and was adopted by Richard “Jack” and Elizabeth (James) Chapman. On October 6, 1945 she married Joseph F. Brazda in Grand Haven and he preceded her in death on March 2, 2001.
Norma worked for North Ottawa Community Hospital for over 25 years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of the Dunes, Hannah Circle, Charles A. Conklin American Legion Post 28 Auxiliary, Sgt. Alvin Jonker VFW Post 2326 Auxiliary and North Ottawa Community Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, music and playing games, most of all spending time with her family when they were home.
She is survived by four sons: Richard Brazda of Danville, IL, James Brazda of Traverse City, Thomas (Peter Owh) Brazda of Deer Park, NY, Michael Brazda of New Market, MD; Several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, December 17, 2015 at the United Methodist Church of the Dunes with Rev. Dr. Glenn M. Wagner officiating. Visitation will take place 5-7 PM Wednesday, December 16, at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven. Interment will take place in Lake Forest Cemetery.
