Norma Elaine DeBoer's Obituary
Mrs. Norma Elaine DeBoer, age 86, of Spring Lake quietly passed away, Tuesday, December 24, 2013. She was born June 19, 1927 in Muskegon to Peter and Caroline (Jury) Jager.
Norma graduated from the Hackley School of Nursing and worked most of her career at North Ottawa Community Hospital. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma who loved spending time with her family and her closest friends.
On April 21, 1951 she married Bernard DeBoer who preceded her in death on July 31, 2000. They lived their entire married life in Spring Lake until they retired and then realized their life-long dream of moving to their cottage on Upper Silver Lake and spending the Winters in St Petersburg, Florida
Norma is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Martin of and Susan Petersen, both of Spring Lake; two grandchildren, Joshua (Katie) Martin, and Jaden Petersen; three great-grandchildren: Delaney, Sam, and Nate Martin. She is also survived by one sister, Carol Freeman of Lake Zurich, Ill; several nieces and nephews; and two extended family members, Todd and Troy Wilde, along with their families.
A private family service has taken place, with interment following in the Spring Lake Cemetery. Memorial contributions in honor of Norma may be given to Love INC. Please sign the family’s online guestbook at www.vbkfuneralhome.com.
