Norma Kooiman's Obituary
Norma C. Kooiman, age 74, of Ellenton, FL (formerly Spring Lake) passed away Saturday, Feb. 25, 2006, at a hospital in Bradenton, FL. Born Feb. 4, 1932 to Charles P. and Leona I. (McClees) Lowder in Johannesburg, MI, she married Robert L. Kooiman on Oct. 11, 1963 in Grand Haven. He passed away Nov. 7, 2002.
Norma and her husband owned and operated the Sportsman’s’ Bar in Grand Haven for 32 years. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, painting and sewing.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Roberta (Don) Kooiman-Campbell of Fruitport and Robin L. Kooiman of Cincinnati, OH; son Lyman Cross of Florida; 4 grandchildren, Gennifer, Robert, Brandon and Mariah; and 3 great grandchildren, Alexis, Kiyin and Deitrick. She was preceded in death by 2 sons, Michael and David Cross, and 2 brothers, Buddy and Mervin Lowder.
