Norma G. Montambo's Obituary
Norma G. Montambo, age 93, passed away Monday, August 26, 2024 at her home. She was born November 29, 1930 in Vasser, MI to George A. and Ruth G. (Bell) Genson and was a lifelong resident of the Muskegon area. On July 23, 1949, Norma married Ellsworth Montambo in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on May 13, 2004 after 54 years of marriage. Norma was proud to be a homemaker most of her life where she always put her family first. She also volunteered for the American Red Cross and the Juvenile Court Systems over the years. She was a longtime active member of Fellowship Church where she would often drive people to services who needed a ride. Norma was fiercely independent while still being a true example of love and will be greatly missed by those who loved her. Survivors include 2 children, Joseph (Karna) Montambo, Sunday Evans; 7 grandchildren, Patty (Kurt) Hullinger, Eric (Cheri) Montambo, Jim (Holli) Montambo, Charity (Jason) Straley, Teresa (Errol) Corlew, Shawn (Sara) Evans, Brandon Evans; 20 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellsworth Montambo; her son-in-law, Robert “Bob” Evans; her parents; 2 brothers, Leslie Genson and George A. Genson. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, September 6, 2024 at Fellowship Church (4200 E. Apple Avenue, Muskegon, MI 49442) with Pastor Mike VanKampen officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial Contributions may be directed to Fellowship Church.
