Norma-Rae Klug's Obituary
Mrs. Norma-Rae Klug, age 91, was welcomed into the loving arms of her Savior Saturday, February 26, 2011. She was born in Elmhurst, IL on July 6, 1919 to Claude H. and Rae-Marie (Houtcamp) Ames, was raised in Chicago, IL as a child and then moved to Muskegon with her family in the 1930’s as a result of the depression. Norma graduated from Muskegon High School in 1937. She was retired from Sealed Power where she worked in Personnel and had previously been employed as an LPN at Mercy Hospital. Norma was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was active in L.W.M.L., Service Guild and teaching Sunday school. She was an International Aid Volunteer and a 40 year Red Cross Volunteer. Norma enjoyed square-dancing, camping, tubing, and family events. She loved to travel with her husband in their motorhome and had made it to 49 of the 50 states. In 2009, Norma accompanied her daughter on an Alaskan Cruise which completed her life-long dream of visiting all 50 states. Most importantly, Norma was a caring person who had a great zest for life and found true joy in her family and friends. On September 14, 1940, Norma-Rae married Erwin H. Klug and he preceded her in death on October 23, 2004. She is survived by 2 children, Barbara Rudick and Stephen Klug; 15 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Erwin; her son Robert Klug; son-in-law, Richard Rudick; 1 brother and 2 sisters. SERVICES will be 11:00AM Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Dennis L. Lassanske officiating. VISITATION will be from 6 – 8PM Tuesday at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210 and one-hour prior to the service at church. INTERMENT will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. MEMORIALS in Norma-Rae’s name may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, West Shore Lutheran School or Christian Care Building Fund.
