Norma Tierman's Obituary
Mrs. Norma Tierman, age 94, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2007. She was born March 11, 1912 to Frank and Lillian (Ackland) Hindes in Fremont, MI, and moved to the Muskegon area in 1920. She worked at Montgomery Wards for 27 years, retiring in 1964, and was a member of Laketon Bethel Reformed Church. When she was able she attended the Ladies Guild of the church, and helped with the church bulletin and newsletter. She also gave her time serving and baking food for many funeral luncheons at Laketon Bethel. On December 31, 1933 Norma married M. Floyd Tierman in Muskegon. He preceded her in death on October 14, 1979. SURVIVORS include 3 grandchildren, Mark (Theresa) Mitchell of Palatine, IL, Shawn (John) Erickson of Des Plaines, IL, Cindy (Bruce) Edwards of Belvidere, IL; 6 great-grandchildren, Nicole, James, Daniel, Rachel, Duncan, and Catie; 1 sister, Marian Cushing of Ann Arbor; 1 son-in-law, Robert C. (Janet) Mitchell of McHenry, IL; 2 sisters-in-law, Gladys Hindes of Palm Harbor, FL, Ida Nelson of Muskegon; a special niece, Minniebelle Parker of Kalamazoo; many other nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Mitchell in 1979; 2 grandsons, Robert and David Mitchell; 4 brothers, Kenneth, Wayne, James, and Max Hindes. SERVICES will be 12 noon Wednesday at Laketon Bethel Reformed Church, with Rev. Dr. Sherwin Brantsen officiating. Burial will take place at Laketon Township Cemetery. VISITATION will be 1 hour prior to the service at church.
