Norman H. Erickson's Obituary
Mr. Norman Harold Erickson, age 84, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2025, in Muskegon. He was born in Muskegon on March 28, 1940, to Harold E. and Leona B. (Lighton) Erickson and graduated from Muskegon High School in 1958. Norman was a proud graduate of Michigan State University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Norman resided in Muskegon until 2016 when he and Jone moved to The Villages Fl. They both recently had returned to the Grand Haven area. Norman retired from the Muskegon County Road Commission in January 2003 as Managing Director. He was a member of United Methodist Church in Muskegon, the Vikings and the Sons of Norway. Norman enjoyed bicycling and loved reading. Norman always tried to make any person he met have a better day with his kind words of encouragement and appreciation. On December 26, 1969, Norman married Jone Maria Boyd (Joneson) in Muskegon. He is survived by his wife Jone; three children, Micheal (Mela) Boyd, William (Lynn) Boyd, and Patrick (Lyn) Boyd; eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A very special young man, Alvaro Aalaanen, who they met during a trip to Amsterdam, whom they always call their adopted son. No services will be held at this time, but a celebration of life will be held in early summer. MEMORIALS in memory of Norman may be directed to the Harbor Hospice of Muskegon.
