Norman Henry Taylor, D.D.S.'s Obituary
Dr. Norman H. Taylor, age 95, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2007, at a local hospital. Norman was born in Detroit, June 24, 1911, with his twin brother, Sherman V. Taylor , to the late Dr. Reu Spencer Taylor and Grace (Voorheis) Taylor. He was a 1930 graduate of Detroit Western high School and a 1937 graduate of the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. Dr. Taylor served his country for 4 years in the Army Air Force, 3 ½ of those spent in the Philippines. Norman loved woodworking, sailing, photography, and listening to music. He was a long time member of the First Christian Reformed Church. Dr Taylor was one of the original tenants of Pine Grove Manor, enjoying 34 years of friendships and retirement. He is SURVIVED by his daughter, Martha Viars of Montague;2 grandchildren, Lisa (Michael) Emery, and Eric Viars; 3 great grandchildren; a niece, Carol (David) Waisanen of Hancock, MI; 2 nephews, David and Charles Taylor of Detroit. Norman was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Charles Spencer Taylor, Dr. Wendell H. Taylor, and Sherman V. Taylor. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 2PM Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at the First Christian Reformed Church(1450 Catherine Ave.), with Rev. Mike Bogert officiating. Burial will be made in Grand Lawn Cemetery in Redford Township, MI. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to the Western Michigan Christian High School Athletic Field Fund.
