Olga Alice Wiersma's Obituary
Mrs. Olga A. Wiersma, age 90, passed away Monday, June 16, 2014 at her home. She was born October 9, 1923 in Muskegon to Constantine and Freda (Brosco) Dratz. Olga was a 1942 graduate of Muskegon High School, and worked in the cosmetic department at Hardy-Herpolsheimer’s and later for Grossman’s department stores. She married Jack W. Wiersma in Muskegon on February 7, 1948. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother to: her husband, Jack; their children, Jill Bennett of Norton Shores and Scott (Michelle) Wiersma of North Muskegon; grandchildren, Lindsay Wiersma, Jordan Wiersma and Courtney Bennett; great-grandchildren, Hunter Peterson, Will Bennett, Ava Eaton and Gabriel Wiersma; sisters-in-law, Joyce (Kenneth) Johnson, Maxine Wiersma and Joanne Dratz. She was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Dratz and sisters, Helen Baars and Naia Nelson. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 3:00 p.m., Friday, June 20, 2014 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100. VISITATION will be Friday, 2:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service. MEMORIAL contributions may be directed to the Muskegon Rescue Mission.
