Orville "Walter" Kolberg, Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. Orville “Walter” Kolberg, Sr., age 88, died Monday afternoon, December 8, 2008, in Colorado Springs, CO. He was born July 11, 1920 in Muskegon to William and Alta (Morse) Kolberg and resided here until moving to Colorado 4 years ago. Walt was a WW II U.S. Army veteran and was a tandem truck driver for Alstrom Construction prior to his retirement. He was a member of Laborer’s Local 865. Following his retirement he worked for Sr. Resources and did yard work for people who needed help. He married to the former Rozella Mitchell and then later married Georgie Adams, both of whom have preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his son Allen, daughter Ruth Ann, step-son, David O’Malley; 1 brother, William Kolberg and 4 sisters, Marian Johnson, Helen Ulakle, Bessy Draper and Doreen. SURVIVORS include 8 children, Orville “Rusty” (Sharon) Kolberg, Jr., Sharon (William) Waller and William Kolberg, all of Muskegon, Judy (Rodney) Heiss of Ravenna, Charlie (Jill) Kolberg of MO, Brian (significant other, Lorretta) Kolberg and Ruby (significant other, Bud) Botten of Colorado Springs, CO and Terry (Rhonda) Kolberg of Calhan, CO; 1 daughter-in-law, Elaine Kolberg of Colorado Springs, CO; 4 step-children, Missy (Ronald) Bitson, Sr., Belinda (Robert) Hinojosa, Sr., Joanne (Pete) O’Malley and Becky (Rick) Helms; 45 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; 1 sister Dorleene Kobera . SERVICES will be 11 AM Monday at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 737 Apple Avenue, Muskegon, MI 49442 (231-726-5210). VISITATION with Walt’s family will be 5-8PM Sunday. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation will be appreciated.
