Oswald "Oz" Hager's Obituary
Oswald “Oz” Hager, age 89, of Whitehall, left this world in the arms of Jesus on Monday, September 14, 2015. He was born November 25, 1925 in Muskegon to Otto and Marie (Kucklei) Hager. Oz graduated college with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry and Math from Western Michigan University. On July 31, 1948 he married Betty Livingston in Muskegon. He worked 27 years for Bofors Nobel, Inc. as a research chemist before retiring in 1991 and following retirement consulted for DSC Laboratories. Mr. Hager was a member of St. James Lutheran Church. He enjoyed making memories with family and friends, but most of all, he adored his granddaughters. SURVIVORS include his wife Betty; 2 children: Marlene Hager, Jan (Bruce) Potter; 2 grandchildren: Hope (Matthew) Barnes and Hannah Potter; sister, Ilse Bomers; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Steven Hager; and sister, Gerda Settergren. SERVICES will be held 11:00 AM Friday at St. James Lutheran Church (8945 Stebbins St., Montague, MI 49437) with Pastor John Brooks officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place in Lakeside Cemetery. MEMORIALS to St. James Lutheran Church Memorial Fund will be appreciated.
