Mr. Ottiwell "Gene" Adams Jr.'s Obituary
Mr. Ottiwell E. “Gene” Adams, Jr., 76, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2020 in Whitehall. He was born May 20, 1943 to Ottiwell and Esther Pauline (Gilson) Adams in Manistee, Co, and lived most of his life in the Muskegon area. He worked as a metallurgist at Universal Camshaft, and retired from Frost Inc. Gene enjoyed hunting, camping, the Oakridge Senior Center events and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. On November 13, 1959 he married Shirley A. Booker. After 60 years of marriage, she survives him along with 4 children: Larry (Cathy) Adams, Connie (Randy) Huston, Lora (Bill) Nunes, Michael (Brenda) Adams; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 1 brother: Tom (Lorraine) Adams; 2 sisters: Ruth Kelsch and Nancy Schmitt. The funeral service for Mr. Adams will be Friday, March 6 at 11:00 a.m. at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 737 Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442. Visitation will be Thursday, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., and Friday at 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 AM, also at The Sytsema Chapel. Burial will take place at Egelston Township Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Mr. Adams may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
