Owen W. Johnston's Obituary
Owen Wayne Johnston, age 79 of Twin Lake, formerly of Spring Lake, Grand Haven and Coopersville, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at home. He was born on August 16, 1940 in Grand Rapids, MI to the late Orley and Josephine Anna (Thompson) Johnston. Owen married Lorraine Goll (Prelesnik) on December 23, 1985 in Muskegon, MI. Owen worked at Gill Industries until retirement in 2008. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid bowler. He loved spending time with family, especially his two closest great-grandchildren. Owen will be remembered and missed by his 4 children; son, Kenneth (Melissa) Johnston of Muskegon; daughter, Robin (Walter) Holmes of Tustin; son, Ronald Johnston of Muskegon; son, Orley “Chuck” (Roxanne) Johnston of Alabama; 11 grandchildren, two of whom he and Lorraine raised; granddaughter, Julia (Robert) Melvin of Twin Lake; granddaughter, Monica Johnston of Tustin; many great-grandchildren, two of whom Owen helped raise; great-grandson, Davyon Johnston; great-granddaughter, Kadence Burns; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 21 years, Lorraine Johnston; son, Owen “Keith” Johnston, and his 8 brothers and sisters.
