Pamela A. Flickema's Obituary
Mrs. Pamela Allison Flickema, with faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, went to be with her Savior in Heaven on Friday evening, June 3, 2016. She was born January 20, 1935 in Muskegon to Clyde and Gladys (Boyden) Hollar; and had been a life resident of the area. Prior to her retirement in 1994, Pam had been a class room assistant for the emotionally impaired at Muskegon Public Schools for 22 years. She was a longtime member of Berean Church and enjoyed serving her Lord in many ways, including VBS, Women’s Retreat and assisting in the kitchen at Grace Youth Camp. Pam’s family was always foremost in her life, but also enjoyed making ceramic dolls, knitting, quilting and traveling. On March 14, 1953, she married Paul A. Flickema and he survives her along with their 4 children, Debra (Dennis) Swanson and their children, Lindsay (Eric) Mikesell and daughter, Alison; Erick (Karen Myers) Swanson and daughter Ellarie, Cameron (Genevieve Johnson) Swanson; Bryan (Angela) Flickema and their children, Geoffrey (Aubree) Flickema and son, Finn, Amanda Flickema and William Flickema; Sandra (Donald) Medema and their children, Marlei (Jon) Simmonds and children Jacob and Kaitlynn, and Brent Medema; David Flickema and his children, Joshua (Svetlana Daybova) Flickema and Kara (Tony) Cunningham and children, Porter and Parker; 1 brother, Sam (Joan) Hollar; and 2 sisters, Phyllis Groeneveld and Dayle (Henry) Karel; and 1 sister-in-law, Ardis Tammen. Pam was preceded in death by her parents; brother, David Hollar and sister, Winona Ondra. FUNERAL SERVICES for Pam will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Berean Church with the Rev. Dr. Rob Renberg officiating. VISITATION with Pam’s family will be 5:00 – 8:00 PM Monday at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231-798-1100) and one-hour prior to the service at Berean Church. Interment will be in Restlawn Cemetery.
