Pamela M. DeLong's Obituary
Pamela M. DeLong, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2020 in Grand Rapids after a short illness. She was born on August 28, 1948 in Muskegon to Harry and Lorraine (Kops) Brown and resided in the area all of her life. Pam was a teacher for Reeths-Puffer Schools for 34 years before retiring in 2003. She was a member of Laketon Bethel Reformed Church, where she served as Deacon and former Sunday School teacher. On August 14, 1970, Pam married Donald DeLong and he preceded her in death on October 28, 2013. Pam will be remembered for her compassionate, joyful spirit and deep love of her family and friends. Always quick to help anyone in need, she was selfless and lived her life loving and serving others. SURVIVORS include two children, Jeff (Sarah) DeLong of Kalamazoo and Stefanie (Mark) Sweany of Muskegon; four grandchildren, Rebekah and Drew Sweany and Brianna and Natalie DeLong; siblings, Mark (Vicki) Brown, Vernon (Cheryl) Brown, Sandra Bridges, Floyd Gee and Harold “Luck” (Lynn) Gee; and many nieces and nephews. Pam was also preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Lorraine; brother, Frederick Brown; and sister-in-law, Jean Gee. A SERVICE CELEBRATING Pam’s life will be 6PM Thursday, January 9, 2020 at Laketon Bethel Reformed Church (1568 W. Giles Rd.) with Rev. Dr. Sherwin Brantsen officiating. VISITATION with Pam’s family will be 4:30-6PM prior to the service at church.
