Pamela Ann Mathews' Obituary
Mrs. Pamela Ann Mathews, age 47, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2024 at her home in Muskegon ending her battle with chronic illness. She was born in Muskegon on September 15, 1976 to Thomas and Diane (VanDyke) Murphy. Pam was employed as a registered nurse for Trinity Health Hospital and most recently, Christian Care Nursing Center. She was an avid sports fanatic, a loyal University of Michigan fan, and a proud supporter of her Detroit teams. Pam enjoyed spending time in the sun, at the pool, and golfing. She loved her family deeply and especially enjoyed the years her nieces and nephews were babies. On August 18, 2018, Pam married Rodney L. Mathews and he survives her along with two stepsons, Dale Mathews and Steven Mathews; mother, Diane Murphy; mother-in-law, Sandra Renner; sisters, Amy (Steve) Kelly and Christine Briggs; numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Tom Murphy, and father-in-law, Donald Mathews. VISITATION will be held from 6-8 PM Friday, February 2, 2024 and from 10-11 AM Saturday, February 3, 2024 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at The Lee Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Pam’s family C/O Rodney Mathews.
