Pamela Sue Thompson's Obituary
Mrs. Pamela Sue Thompson, age 70, of Twin Lake passed away Sunday, July 28th, 2024, surrounded by family, after a second battle with cancer. Pam was born July 9th, 1954, in Muskegon, Michigan to Alfred Owens & Darlyene Crawford.
On October 11th, 2014, Pam married her beloved friend, Thomas Thompson in Cedar Creek Township. Together, they enjoyed nearly a decade of love, laughter, and long drives up north to their favorite spots.
Pam retired from Herman Miller in 2016, after years of hard work and dedication. In her retirement years, Pam enjoyed her well-earned free time gardening, canning, and spending time with her family and friends, who will miss her dearly.
An avid gardener, Pam’s favorite flower was the sunflower, which is a felicitous representation of Pam’s life and personality. Her kindness and naturally social nature shed a brightness like sunshine upon anyone she met. Pam was an abundance of beauty and wonder to those around her. Many things about Pam remind those who love her of her green thumb and love of nature, in life, as well as in her passing. Shortly after Pam slipped from this realm to the next, a gentle rain fell; even in death, she refused to leave without watering the gardens one last time.
Pam is survived by her husband, Thomas Thompson; three children: Robin (Marcus) McCombs, Richelle (Fiancé, Jerry) Miller, William (Sarah) Miller; step-daughter Amber Thompson; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; father, Alfred (Joy) Owens; brother, Dale (Laurie) Owens; sister, Linda (Terry) Torrey. She was preceded in death by her mother, Darlyene Swarts; sister, Jill Torrey.
A memorial service will be held 5:00 PM Friday, August 30, 2024 at Jericho Road Church, 930 Creston Street, Muskegon, MI 49442. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 5:00 PM before the service at church. Please sign the family's online guestbook at www.systemafh.com.
