We were filled with grief when we became aware of Pastor Russ’s passing. Each of you were and are an integral part of our lives. Our prayers are with you and your families. While we have many things we are grateful for having him as our Pastor for 19 years before we moved from Michigan, there are three things that top the list: 1) his sermons challenged us to grow in our love for Christ and have impacted our lives and through us, the lives of many others, 2) his willingness to give time to have a conversation in his office. Our memory is him leaning back with his legs crossed and hands to his chin while he listened, and 3) his open heart to welcoming the DeColores community to use the church building. Lori and family, I was so sad to hear of Russ's passing. He was a great person and a real great pastor. He always had such nice stories to get the message across. I will always remember that we were the first couple he married when he came to Muskegon. Now he doesn't have to suffer anymore. He will be really missed. God be with you all.
