Patrice L. Cook's Obituary
Mrs. Patrice L. Cook, age 67, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 2, 2022 at her home. She was born on February 27, 1955 in Detroit, MI to John and Gloria (Scanlan) Downy. Pat graduated from Our Lady of Mercy High School in Farmington Hills, MI and attended Michigan State University. She then met James “Jim” Cook and the two were married in 1987. Pat retired from the former Old Kent Bank after many years of working as a loan officer and was a longtime member of Lakeside Eagles Ladies Auxiliary. Pat enjoyed spending her times cheering on the Lions and Tigers, tending to her vegetable garden, cooking delicious meals, and spending time with her pug, Mr. Wilson. Pat will be remembered by her husband, Jim; Jim’s siblings, Tom (Marsha) Cook, David (Patti) Cook, Betty Ann (David) Bickford; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Cook; brother-in-law, Joe Christophersen; and many wonderful aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her step-son, Christopher Cook; brother, Jay Downy; brother-in-law, Deacon Bill Cook; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Christophersen; and parents. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00AM, Thursday, October 6 at The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., Muskegon, MI 49441 with Deacon Jim Schiltz officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 – 11:00AM. Burial to take place at Norton Cemetery at 3:00PM. Memorial contributions in Pat’s memory may be directed to the American Heart Association.
