Patricia A. Abrelat's Obituary
Patricia Ann Abrelat, age 91, passed away in Norton Shores, MI, on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. Pat was born in Grand Haven, MI, on May 9, 1933, to George and Martha (Retzloff) Hendrych, and she was a graduate of Grand Haven High School. In 1972 she married Thomas Panyard, and they spent 21 wonderful years and made many memories sailing together until he preceded her in death in 1993. She worked for many years at T.A. Panyard, and then most recently worked as a greeter at Meijer until she retired in 2013. On May 16, 2012, she married Arnold Abrelat, who preceded her in death in April of 2024. Pat enjoyed cooking, especially the homemade sauerkraut that she made with the family at their fall get-togethers. Pat’s faith was very important to her, and she was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church She loved to decorate her home and taking care of the flowers in her garden. She loved shopping and getting together with her cousins in recent years. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pat will be lovingly remembered by her son, William (Lori) Sutton; two grandchildren: Lindsey Rodriguez and Ryan Rodriguez; four great-grandchildren: Brezlynn Rodriguez, Brody Rodriguez, Jace Szot, and Brooks Szot; sister, Carol Rosema; and many other nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, George and Martha Hendrych; husbands, Thomas Panyard and Arnold Abrelat; siblings, Delores Upman and Bud (Shirley) Hendrych; and brother in-law, Cal Rosema. Per Patricia’s request no public services will be taking place. In lieu of flowers please consider making memorial contributions to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
