Patricia Ann "Pat" Greene's Obituary
Mrs. Patricia Ann (Karl) Greene, age 86 of Twin Lake, passed away on Monday, October 1, 2024 at home. She was born Patricia Ann Karl in Detroit, MI, daughter of Alice (Blatz) and Raymond F. Karl on April 13, 1938. Pat is preceded in death by her son, Karl F. Schwing in 2009, and husbands: Carl J. Schwing in 1991, Carl Baughman in 1983, and Robert L. Greene in 1991. Also preceding her in death are her mother and father; sisters: Jackie Stuart and Sue F. Augustine; brother-in-law, Robert J. Stuart; and nephews: Jamie Stuart and Mark Augustine. Pat was an active member of First Baptist Church for over 50 years, was Treasurer for 42 years, and sang in the choir. She started clogging in 1991 with the Lumbertown Cloggers and started country line dancing in 1992. She was an avid bowler since 1966. She graduated from North Muskegon High School in 1957 and worked for Liberty Loan, Crown Finance, and Home Loan. She drove a school bus for Reeths-Puffer Schools for 10 years. Pat helped with the family business, Engine Rebuilders Service Co Inc. and when her husband died in 1983, she continued the business with the help of her daughters, Kim and Kari. She was a strong vibrant woman, who kept busy helping others. She was very active in her church. Her family, faith and church were most important to her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Pat is survived by her daughters: Kim (John) Arter of Muskegon and Kari (Paul) Murphy of Ft. Gratiot, MI. She leaves four grandchildren: Allison (Brett) Koch, Flynn, Paige, and Brenna Murphy; and three great-grandchildren: Genevieve, Olivia, and Paul Koch. She is also survived by her sister: Michelle (Paul Supan) Timmer of Twin Lake and brother: Kip(Lena) Karl of London, England; and brother-in-law, Leonard Augustine of Vacaville, CA; one step-sister: Penny(David)Fisher of Twin Lake; two step-brothers: Jeffrey(Marion)Beach of Twin Lake and Patrick(Judy)Beach of Twin Lake. She also leaves her step-children: Karen (David) Vos of Colorado, Martin (Pat) Greene of Muskegon, Robert (Mary) Greene Jr. of Grand Rapids, Thomas (Laurie) Greene of Whitehall; ten step-grandchildren; and lots of nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation with the family will be from 4-7 PM on Friday, October 25, 2024 at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 737 Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442 (231) 726-5210.
