My condolences to the family and especially to Debbie, Julie, and Heidi. Your mom and dad were like 2nd parents to me. They will always have a special place in my heart too. I remember babysitting Heidi and Friday nights were a richual for Jerry and Pat to head out to the Copper Kettle for some time away with friends, shall I say. Sometimes they would drive together and sometimes separate. I never totally undertstood why. But it is now a standing joke between my husband and I because we were dating back then and he remembers this too of Pat and Jerry driving separately. Anyhow, the standing joke is when I and my husband (John) drive anywhere now separately he will always call to me and say, "Mrs. Laubach, I will meet up with you later." etc. Just like Jerry would say to Pat. So that is something my husband still tellls me as of today. Just like Jerry would say to Pat. It is little memories like this story that we still love to share about the people who we care about and it may be silly to others or make no sense, but here's to Pat and Jerry may they meet up again in heaven.
