Patricia Lou Mattson's Obituary
Patricia Lou Mattson, age 85, passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2016. Pat was born on April 17, 1930 to Clarence and Myrtle Gardner. In 1948, she married Harry Mattson and together they were blessed with five children. Pat worked in medical records her entire career. She worked at Hackley Hospital, Heritage Hospital, Hart Hospital and for the Michigan Department of Corrections. Pat was a hard worker and she worked until she was 83 years old. She was a member of Temple United Methodist Church. Pat enjoyed traveling, cooking, reading and being with her family. She was a classy, hardworking, outgoing woman with a contagious smile. She will be deeply missed. Pat is survived by four of her children; Marsha (Dale) Allen, Barb (Bill) Sternburgh, Kathy Kauranen and Samuel (Cheryl Eikey) Mattson; daughter-in-law, Shelley Ogren; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Harold (Bonnie) Mattson; sister-in-law, Shirley (Dick) Grammel; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; son, Andy Mattson; her parents; grandson, Matthew Kauranen; granddaughter, Stefanie Sternburgh; great-grandson, Justin Kauranen; and son-in-law, Steve Kauranen. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held on Monday, March 28, 2016 at 11 AM at Temple United Methodist Church, 2500 Jefferson St. VISITATION will be held one hour prior to the start of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Robbinswood Assisted Living or Mission for Area People.
