Patricia Jeanne Maynard's Obituary
Patricia Jeanne Maynard, age 91, passed away in Muskegon on Tuesday, April 5, 2022. Pat was born on April 9, 1930, in Bryan, Ohio, to her parents Lyndon and Irene (Giant) Williams. She graduated from Muskegon Heights High School and then went on to study at Muskegon Community College. On October 6, 1951, she married the love of her life, Melvin L. Maynard, and they spent 70 wonderful years together before he preceded her in death on February 20, 2022. Throughout her life Pat worked in a variety of settings, including at the offices of Dr. Paul Medema and Dr. Robert Mixer, working as a server at Russ’ Restaurant, and working as a receptionist for the Muskegon Area Intermediate School District. She was an excellent seamstress who enjoyed making clothing for family and herself, as well as draperies for her home. Pat was a long-time member at First Baptist Church in Muskegon, where she sang in the choir. Patricia will be lovingly remembered by her four children: Debra (David) Hilliard, Dianne Maynard, David (Amy) Maynard, and Daniel (Sandy) Maynard; seven grandchildren: David II (Jenna), Brittany (TJ), Marci (Matthew), Emily (Justin), Danni, Kelli, and Cami; six great-grandchildren with one on the way; sister, Mary (Bill) Brandenburg; and special friends and neighbors, Louie and Earlaine Kiel; She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Melvin. A FUNERAL for Patricia will be taking place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 9 at First Baptist Church in Muskegon (1070 Quarterline Rd, Muskegon, MI 49442), with visitation taking place an hour prior. In lieu of flowers, donations in Pat’s memory can be made out to First Baptist Church.
