My sister, Patty, was the most beautiful child. She grew up on our grandparents' farm, where she learned to cherish all animals, but especially cats. At 19, she had the extreme good luck to find her soulmate, Gwyn. Their lives were defined by family, community and church fellowship, loving parenting, many adventures, and dedication to hard work. After they moved to Michigan and I moved out west, we did not often see each other in person, but we stayed in touch via letters, photos, and calls throughout the years. I last saw her and her bevy of cats in 2019. I am happy I got to speak to her on her most recent birthday, April 17, 2025. Over the years, Patty had quite a few medical issues, but she never let them break her spirit. Her hobbies were knitting and crocheting, and she leaves behind many beautiful creations. Her kitties were everything to her and she had a heart full of love for her children, and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Patty leaves behind a lifetime of service, creativity, and laughter. I will miss her ironic sense of humor and her spirit of inclusiveness towards all creatures on earth.
