Patricia D. Simpson's Obituary
Patricia Del Simpson, age 76, passed away in Muskegon, MI, on Friday, February 17, 2023. Pat was born on July 21, 1946, in Stearns, KY, to her parents Carl and Mattie (Stigall) Simpson. In her early twenties she worked for a few years as a secretary for the Chicago Urban League, and then for many years as a cost accountant and in Human Resources at Bohn Aluminum in Holland. She later received her undergraduate degree from Aquinas College, and then went on to receive her Masters of Public Administration from Grand Valley State University. After receiving her degrees, she worked for many years as a librarian for Kent District Libraries. Pat enjoyed reading, gardening, and watching political television. She also loved to cook, especially her famous macaroni and cheese. Patricia will be lovingly remembered by her son, Chris (Amy) Simpson; three grandchildren: Madalyn Simpson, Chevonne (Chad) Lowing, and Tony (Adrianne) Miller; six great-grandchildren; four siblings: Elizabeth Pitchford, Carl Simpson Jr, Mary (Ken) Hunt, and Eulis (Diane) Simpson; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Mattie Simpson; and four siblings: Bobbie Johnson, Kenneth Simpson, Roger Simpson, and Tommy Simpson. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be taking place for Patricia at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 24, at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 E. Apple Ave, Muskegon, MI, 49442, with VISITATION taking place an hour prior starting at 10:00 AM.
