Dear Kathy, Karen, Bob, and Families,
We received your letter and Pat's Obituary yesterday. We were sorry to read of your loss! Pat was such a dear lady and will be sorely missed by many. I remember visiting your famly in MI and will always remember how fond my parents, Vera and Karl Haller, were of both Pat and Joyce! I personally looked so foward to her annual Christmas letters, as well as all of yours, but hers was always so perfectly wonderful, hand-written and newsy! I believe she is the last of her generation of the Haller family and we surely considered her a gem! We will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers!

Dear Karen, Kathy, and Bob,

Your mother was my longest friend (since summer of 1949) when we were both single. I met Pat at the Parkman Branch Library when we both worked in the Children's Department. We both met our husbands through a Methodist Church group.

Your mom introduced me to Gladys Hunter and I introduced her to Marilynn Amann. The four of us, along with our husbands, got together frequently over many, many years.

Early this year when I talked to your mom, she told me all about how much she enjoyed working at the library and how much she enjoyed encouraging children to read. She seemed so happy reminiscing about it.

I last talked with her in early April and I just really can't believe that she is gone. She was very dedicated in everything she did. She always made an effort to keep our friendship going, and she was an avid letter writer. She would write about baking cookies at Christmas with her grandchildren and how meaningful that was to her. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren.

I know she appreciated all of the help and support Kathy provided weekly. It made a huge difference to your mom.

I will miss her greatly.
