Patricia "Pete" Louise Vander Stel's Obituary
Patricia “Pete” Louise Vander Stel, age 77, of Spring Lake passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015, at a care facility in Muskegon. She was born November 5, 1937, in Grand Rapids to Joseph and Pauline (Yankee) Townshend, and she married Richard “Dick” Vander Stel on December 16, 1955, in Grand Rapids.
Pat was a member of Spring Lake Presbyterian Church, and the American Legion Charles A. Conklin Post #28 Auxiliary. She worked with her husband as his bookkeeper for 30 years at their business, Di-X-Cell Tool and Die. Pat loved to crochet and have a good laugh.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Dick Vander Stel; three sons: Rich (Char) Vander Stel, Mike (Kelley) Vander Stel, and Joe (Jill) Vander Stel; eight grandchildren: Nick, Jennifer, Jason, Emilee, Chase, Adam, Alyssa, and Brendon; two great-grandchildren, Elisabeth and Darin; two sisters, Joyce (Roland) Johnson, Ruth (Edward) Vermurlen; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2015, at Spring Lake Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dan Anderson Officiating. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service.
